Huntington bank officials have announced the bank will close more than 100 locations later this year after merging with FirstMerit Bank.
A total of 107 locations within Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania will be affected by the merger. Closings are not expected to take place until the first quarter of 2017, officials said.
The merger was announced in January.
Customers will still be able to access a nearby convenient branch as the company’s network of banks still comprises about 1,000 locations, officials said.
Employees were informed by the bank that they will still have job opportunities even if their branch closes as long as they are in good standing with the company.
