2 SWAT officers shot in north Columbus while serving probate warrant; suspect barricaded in home

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two SWAT officers were shot in north Columbus amid a barricade situation, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office confirmed to News 5 partner WSYX in Columbus.

WSYX reports that both SWAT officers are expected to recover. The suspect was still barricaded as more officers and deputies responded to the scene at around 8:45 a.m.

A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said at the scene that a probate court warrant was being served. The sheriff's office told WSYX that the suspect has mental health problems and was considered to be a danger to the community.
