WARREN, Ohio — A man wanted for the fatal shooting of a pregnant woman in Warren last month has been captured by the U.S. Marshals Service in Baltimore.
The suspect, Kemari James, 27, was taken into custody Tuesday in the 3400 block of Parklawn Avenue in Baltimore. He is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
The woman, La’Nesha Workman, was shot and killed on April 17.
A neighbor that heard the gunshot called police. When officers arrived, they found Workman dead inside her home. Her two children were located inside unharmed.
“The U.S. Marshals and Warren police officers were deeply impacted from the callous nature of this crime. Although we applaud the capture of this violent fugitive, we join the Workman family in mourning the loss of La’Nesha,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said.
