The Ohio National Guard will send about 40 soldiers to Puerto Rico to help the island as it recovers from Hurricane Maria.
Soldiers will be deployed from Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in Columbus around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Soldiers from the 137th Signal Company, based in Newark, Ohio, will help with communications support for hurricane relief efforts.
There are already more than 200 Ohio National Guard Soldiers and Airmen providing relief efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
