GENOA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An Ohio police department shared a video of a tense encounter that showed the moments officers realized a man who'd been pulled over had a gun on the seat next to him.

The encounter happened on I-71 southbound in Delaware County, outside of Columbus.

Genoa Township police said Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled the man over just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, then called police and a K9 to help.

Police said the suspect refused to follow the officer's commands to get out of the car and ignored their efforts to get him to calm down.

The man eventually drove off while the officers still had their guns pointed at him.

The man was arrested after a long chase.
