A 14-year-old boy who was mistaken for a home invader and shot by his father in Cincinnati early Tuesday morning has died, according to police Sgt. Joe Briede.
The father thought the teen was a home invader, police said. He was skipping school and snuck back in the house at around 6:30 a.m.
The father shot his son in the neck as he came up the basement steps of the house, Briede said. He was transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he later died.
