YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A Youngstown animal shelter is looking for a home for a sweet puppy that was thrown from a car Friday.

The Mahoning County Dog Warden is taking care of an unnamed puppy a witness saw thrown from a car on Youngstown’s South Side. The witness provided a license plate number and vehicle description to police, the shelter said.

The puppy is on “stray hold” in case it was stolen or found and then dumped, according to the shelter.

On Wednesday, the stray hold will be lifted and the puppy will be available for adoption.

Those interested in applying to adopt the puppy can email ssabol@mahoningcountyoh.gov for an application.

The applications will be processed on Wednesday after the stray hold is lifted, the shelter said.
