The city of Port Clinton declared a State of Emergency on Wednesday because of flooding. Officials are asking residents to limit travel through the city and to use caution if they head out today.

Port Clinton is in Ottawa County, just west of Sandusky.

Crews have placed barricades across the city to help block the water. Officials said the city is working with the Ottawa County Emergency Management Agency to restore services to the city.

Authorities said the flooding is due to large amounts of rainfall and record lake levels. Crews have pumps out and are working to control the water levels.
