Cleveland Indians draft Daniel Espino with first round pick

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians have drafted a pitcher with their first round pick.

Right handed pitcher Daniel Espino was picked 24th overall in the 2019 draft by the Tribe.

Espino, 18, had a 0.32 ERA his senior year of high school.

He plays for Georgia Premier Academy in Statesboro, Georgia.

Espino is 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He moved to Georgia from Panama during his sophomore year of high school.

He was committed to play college baseball at Louisiana State University.
