Cleveland Indians Utility player Mike Aviles announced on Thursday his 5-year-old daughter Adriana is now cancer-free, according to ESPN.
ESPN reported Adriana Aviles was diagnosed with leukemia in May of 2015 at Cleveland Clinic. She was then transferred to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mike Aviles told ESPN the last season was difficult, considering all that was happening with his family.
"It was a tough a situation, but it worked out good because I didn't get traded," Aviles told ESPN. "I was able to stay there and be around for my family."
