Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert will be out 12 to 14 weeks with a wrist injury, the team announced Tuesday.
An MRI confirmed that Shumpert suffered a ruptured Extensor Carpi Ulnaris sheath in his right wrist.
Shumpert will undergo surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Wednesday.
He is expected to return in 12 to 14 weeks.
The Cavs will play their first preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 7 in Cincinnati.
