ESPN's Chris Broussard orginally reported Thompson's agent would have him sign the deal, but then backtracked and said the deal has not been agreed upon by the Cavs.

Thompson played in all 82 games last season, starting in 15 with an average of 8.5 points.

He was an integral part of Cleveland's NBA Finals run after Kevin Love went down with a shoulder injury.
