CLEVELAND — The NBA has finished it's investigation into Patrick McCaw's short-lived stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN's Marc Spears.
NBA says it has completed its investigation into the Cavaliers’ signing and subsequent waiver of Patrick McCaw. Based on the specific facts and circumstances of this matter, the NBA found that there was no violation of the league’s CBA, including the anti-circumvention rules.

The Cavaliers signed McCaw on December 28, but dropped him on Jan. 6.
McCaw played three games with the Cavs before his contract would have been guaranteed for the remainder of this season. McCaw cleared waivers and is now an unrestricted free agent.
