The Cleveland Browns issued a statement Tuesday regarding embattled player Johnny Manziel's off-the-field behavior.
Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown said in the statement that the quarterback's behavior "runs counter to" the expectations for players on and off the field.
Read the entire statement below:
We've been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field. Johnny's continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time.
This comes just days after Manziel was investigated by Fort Worth, Texas police regarding a domestic incident with a woman who identified herself as Manziel's ex-girlfriend.
The woman was said by police to be "uncooperative with officers on scene, and they were unable to locate a crime scene."
The woman also told police that she had concerns of the well-being of Manziel. Fort Worth officers attempted to locate him, and later determined that he was safe and was not in danger.
