The Cleveland Browns have signed free agent Robert Griffin III, the team announced Thursday.
Browns Head Coach Hue Jackson and Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown said they are excited that they were able to come to an agreement with the quarterback.
“I'm excited about the opportunity to join the Dawg Pound and help build something here in Cleveland,” Griffin said. “Coach Hue and Pep, I had a great meeting with them. I really believe in what they preach and how they can help not only me as a player but this team win games and that's what we're all about."
After playing at Baylor University, Griffin was selected by the Washington Redskins with the second overall pick in 2012.
Griffin is the fourth quarterback on the Browns roster behind Josh McCown, Austin Davis and Connor Shaw.
