In a surprising move by the Cleveland Browns, ESPN is reporting that the team signed a contract extension for reserve quarterback Austin Davis.

NFL reporter Field Yates says sources told him that it's a two-year contract extension worth $4.173 million.

According to ESPN, the deal includes a $500,000 signing bonus and has $600,000 in guarantees.

Davis is the third-string quarterback behind Josh McCown and Johnny Manziel.

TMZ reported Tuesday that three players believe Manziel deserves to start Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
