A person familiar with the negotiations says the Browns have agreed to contract terms with former New York Jets inside linebacker Demario Davis.

Davis' deal is for two years and is expected to be announced later Wednesday, said the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract has not been signed.

The Browns, who have already lost four starters since the start of free agency, hosted the 27-year-old Davis on Tuesday.

Davis started every game the past three seasons for the Jets, but shared playing time last season. He finished with 90 tackles and two sacks last season. A former third-round draft pick, Davis recorded more than 100 tackles in 2013 and 2014.

The Browns are likely to lose linebacker Craig Robertson, also one of their best special teams players, and Davis can fill that void.

Cleveland also signed linebacker Justin Tuggle last week.
