Lynsey Wallace of Padua Franciscan High is not your ordinary girl high school athlete.  Lynsey is the goalie for the boys varsity hockey team.  She's so good , she has earned All-Conference first team goaltender.

"The coaches in our league The Great Lakes Hockey League, votes on best players offense, defense, and goaltender. All the coaches voted that Lynsey as a junior was the best goaltender this season in our league and she received that award," said head coach Greg Coyle.

Lynsey also plays tennis and runs track.  But sports not the only thing that Lynsey is really good at. She also excels in her academics. She's a member of student council and National Honor Society with a 4.39 GPA.

"I want to be a vet when I'm older through the MedTrack program at Padua.  I've done an externship, which is the same thing as an internship, in a veterinarian clinic and I loved it.  So my academics are really important to me because it's really hard to get into veterinarian school," said Lynsey.

Lynsey would like to play hockey in college.  She's being recruited to play women's college hockey.
