Three-acre Corn Maze
August 15 through October 18, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lake Metroparks Farmpark
Weather and field condtitions permitting. Do you have a good sense of direction? Here’s a chance to test your skill as you ”walk the stalk” through a multitude of twists and turns through a three-acre corn maze at Lake Metroparks Farmpark. Trivia questions are posted throughout the maze to help guide you along the way. Answer the questions correctly and you will proceed on the correct path. Included with Farmpark admission: $6; ages 60+, $5 Youth 2 – 11, $4; younger than 2, Free; Farmpark members, Free

Bird Watching: Migrating Songbirds
Saturday, September 12, 8 to 10 a.m., Red Lock Trailhead.
Discover migrating songbirds within the lowland forests along the Cuyahoga River. This 2.5-mile walk along the firm, flat Towpath Trail is wheelchair accessible. For more information call 330-657-2752.

Fall Car Show: Mosquito Lake
Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mosquito Lake State Park
Fall Car Show is held at Marina Parking Lot in Main Park Area. Event times 1 0a.m. to 4p.m. with registration from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., cost of registration $5.00 per vehicle. Walking Works: Fort Hill Hike
Saturday, September 12, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Rocky River Reservation, Rocky River Nature Center, 24000 Valley Parkway, North Olmsted, OH 44070
Earn Walking Works credit while enjoying a beautiful view above the Rocky River. We’ll talk about the history of the area and look for interesting wildlife along the way. Terrain: many steep stairs, hills, 1.5 miles. Free.

Ashland County Parks
River Walk Natural Area
This 11 acre park is nestled along the Jerome Fork of the Mohican River just south of Ashland and provides an opportunity to enjoy over 1500 feet of river access. Hiking, bird watching, spring wildflower viewing and canoeing (at your own risk) are all great activities to enjoy here.
Both the river and park are home to diverse communities of animal including turtles, river otters, wood ducks, herons, deer and an impressive number of insects. Towering buckeye and walnut trees stand silent watch over the flood plain and wait patiently for your visit.
Note: Insect repellant is advised during summer months.

Crawford County Parks
Family Tent Camping
Friday, September 11, 6:30 p.m., Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 SR 598
The Crawford Park District invites all to come and pitch a tent around the pond for an all-night campout stay. You can start setting up your tent any time after 5; programing will start at 6:30. Bring your kids out for a night of family fun that can include fishing and hiking, watching the night sky, and of course, roasting s’mores. So bring your tent, blankets, and a treat to share around the camp fire. We’ll have a wonderful night. Preregistration required before Sept. 10. Archery for Beginners

This new program offered by the Crawford Park District is for those interested in archery and have not had many chances to experience it. We’ll start with safety first and move into the basics of shooting a bow and arrow. Participants will then get to apply their new knowledge and skillsets toward our targets. All equipment will be provided. Again, this is a beginner program. For ages 6 and up. Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of US Route 30. Go Take a Hike Kickoff

Join the Friends of Erie MetroParks for guided hikes, a disc jockey, storytelling, drum circle, kids' nature activities, train rides and refreshments for the annual Kickoff event! Registration for the hike Kickoff begins at 2:30 with a 2:59 start. This fall event begins the Go Take a Hike Program. All activities are free!
