Today's Ohio is shaped from the past.  Learn from days gone-by at Cleveland Metroparks Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration and Music Festival. 
Come and experience a slice of life at Cedar Valley from the early days of settlement. There will be plenty of hands-on activities to try like and live music that will entertain you and the family.

Frostville Museum is located off Cedar Point Road in Rocky River Reservation, between Valley Parkway and Columbia Road/Route 252 in North Olmsted, just off the I-480/Clague Road exit (westbound) and I-480/Columbia Road exit (eastbound).

Free parking is available at Rocky River Nature Center and Lagoon Picnic area with regular shuttles.  

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Off the Beaten Path Hike
Saturday, September 19, 9 to 11 a.m., Canal Exploration Center.
Carpool and then hike 2 miles at Terra Vista. Plan for a hill and an unpaved trail. For more information call 330-657-2752.
Hiking the Hills
Sunday, September 20, 9 a.m. to noon, Station Road Bridge Trailhead.
Challenge yourself on the unpaved, hilly terrain of the Buckeye Trail. Fast pace. 7 miles. For more information call 330-657-2752.

Fall Bird Walks at Wildwood
Sunday, September 20, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Euclid Creek Reservation, Wildwood parking lot.
Join us every Sunday in September and October as we catch the spectacular fall migration right on Lake Erie. Gulls, mergansers and other ducks will be stopping over en route to their wintering grounds! Meet in the parking lot closest to the pavilion. Free.

Crawford County Parks

Spiders, Moths, & More!

Autumn is a great time to observe nature at night with the Crawford Park District.  Through the use of flashlights, black lights, and white sheets, we’ll search for and observe the many nocturnal arthropods of Lowe-Volk.  Fun for the whole family!  Bring a flashlight.  Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of US Route 30. Unger Farm Heritage Day
Saturday, September 19, 11a.m. to 3p.m., Unger Park 1303 Bucyrus-Nevada Rd.
Celebrate the area’s farm heritage with the Crawford Park District! This is a great event with a petting zoo, horses, llamas, nature craft for kids, horse drawn wagon tours, outhouse tours, bale romping, chainsaw art, and more!.  OSU Extension is our partner at Unger Farm.  They will be on hand to answer questions regarding the ag trial, orchard, and ornamental plants.  There will be food served from 11AM until 2:30PM. A Berry Good Bird Walk
Saturday, September 19, 8 to 9:30 a.m., The Rookery
Fueled up on berries and bugs, songbirds are headed south traveling incognito, song-less in autumn plumage, a fun challenge to ID. Bring binoculars. The walk utilizes gravel trails, level, but not paved.

Village Peddler Festival

Fall Hay Wagon Rides & Corn Maze

Celebrate the onset of fall with an old-fashioned hay wagon ride! Horse-drawn wagons leave about every fifteen minutes; short waits are common. The last wagon departs at 3:45. 50th Anniversary Celebration: Down on the Farm!

The park district is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Visit Allardale, one of the most scenic parks in Medina County, for some good old-fashioned, down-home fun! Summit Metro Parks is partnering with Akron General to present Healthy Strides Hikes. During the Fall Hiking Spree, join us on casual 1- to 3-mile walks, preceded by a brief, informative talk by Akron General physicians and caregivers. Woodland Mushrooms
