Return of the MAC: Mid-American Conference is underway in Cleveland with men's & women's basketball

There's a whole lot of basketball happening at the Q this week, and it's not just the Cavaliers in action. 

In its 18th year in Cleveland, the MAC tournament injects about $15 million into the local economy, as teams and fans explore the downtown area after taking in the games.

Twelve teams (six in Ohio) suited up to face-off on the court the week of March 6, pitting many of the regions best women and men players against each other.

5 things to know about the MAC Tournament

1. Ohio teams: Kent, Akron, Bowling Green, Miami, Ohio, and Toledo

2. Tickets start at $10 (women's games) and $20 (men's games), so if you're craving some basketball action at a bargain price, this is your shot. Get more ticket information here.

3. The championship games are on Saturday, March 11. The women play at 11:00 a.m. and the men play at 7:30 p.m.

5. In case you were wondering, MAC players can and do make it to the NBA. Richaun Holmes (Bowling Green) plays for the Philadelphia 76ers, and Maurice Ndour (Ohio) plays for the New York Knicks.
