Texas bar employee sues Johnny Manziel, claims former Browns quarterback broke his nose

Posted

Johnny Manziel is being sued by a bar employee who says his nose was broken when the former Cleveland Browns quarterback punched him.

The lawsuit, filed Monday by Eric Newton in Travis County, Texas, seeks up to $1 million in damages.

The incident allegedly happened Sept. 6 at a bar in Austin, Texas called New York New York where Manziel was attending a private party.

Newton claims in the suit that Manziel demanded he make drinks, even though he was not an actual bartender, and therefore couldn't do so.

According to the suit, sometime later, Newton had a conversation with another customer about Manziel, stating his opinion of the former quarterback. The exchange was overheard by someone in Manziel's group, who then told Manziel about the conversation.

That's when Manziel allegedly ran behind the bar, cursed and Newton and punched him in the face, breaking his nose.

The two then fell to the floor and Manziel ran out the back exit.
