CLEVELAND — A man, a pregnant woman and a child were all hospitalized following a crash on Interstate 77 between Fleet Avenue and Pershing Avenue.

A 32-year-old man driving a green Saturn Relay minivan lost control of his vehicle and drove into the shoulder. The vehicle then rear ended a disabled 2008 Mack Truck equipped with a dumpster, authorities said.

A 31-year-old pregnant woman and a 1-year-old were inside of the minivan at the time of the crash.

The man was transported to Metro Hospital, where he later died.

The woman and infant were transported to Metro Hospital with unknown injuries.

Emergency crews on the scene worked for 10 to 15 minutes to remove the driver and a passenger from the vehicle.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured in the crash.

Crews peeled the roof off of the vehicle to access the trapped occupants. Once removed, they were taken from the scene in an ambulance to nearby hospitals, according to the Cleveland Fire Department.

There is stop and go traffic from the scene of the accident to I-480 with delays of 30 minutes.
