An officer suffered minor injuries while assisting with a crash on Interstate 480 Wednesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Fairview Park officer was investigating an earlier crash and standing alongside one of the vehicles when a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck traveling eastbound lost control.
The Ford Ranger slid off the right side of the roadway and into a parked 2006 Jeep Cherokee.
The Ford Ranger then bounced off and hit a 2014 Toyota Highlander as well as the officer.
The officer was thrown to the ground as the Ford Ranger re-entered the road and was struck by a 2003 Ford Taurus.
The driver of the Toyota Highlander and the Ford Taurus were taken to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
The Fairview Park police officer also suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to Fairview Hospital.
