Authorities looking for escaped inmates in Sandusky County

An active search is underway for two inmates on the loose in Sandusky County.

According to 13ABC in Toledo, Mickey Hardy, 38, and Jordan Chapman, 26, escaped from county jail Monday afternoon. Authorities are looking for them in Fremont, Ohio.

Hardy was in jail for aggravated menacing, burglary and operating a vehicle intoxicated. Chapman was in jail on three counts of stolen property and four other charges.

Both were last seen wearing orange shirts and pants, but their clothes were found on the edge of a cornfield, 13ABC reports.

Authorities tell the news outlet these men should be considered armed and dangerous. People living in the area are asked to lock their doors.

The Sandusky County Sheriff's Office is working to determine how the two escaped.

 

Fremont Police say Mickey Hardy was caught at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 in Toledo. He is back in Sandusky County Jail. Jordan Chapman was also caught and is in Lucas County.
