3-year-old girl hit by car, killed while crossing street in Wayne County

EAST UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that killed a 3-year-old girl Tuesday night in East Union Township—making it the sixteenth fatal crash in Wayne County this year.

The crash happened on Kansas Road, just south of Ely Road when 3-year-old Dora Miller of Orville was attempting to cross east to west on Kansas Road.

Miller was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe heading northbound on Kansas Road.

She was taken by East Union EMS where she was life-flighted to Akron Children's Hospital and pronounced dead approximately five hours after the crash happened.

A 58-year-old man from Apple Creek who was driving the Chevrolet Tahoe wasn't injured in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
