It's the first weekend in August which means there are many things to do as the end of summer gets closer.

Twins Day Festival

The largest gathering of twins anywhere in the world. You don't have to be a twin to attend but get used to seeing doubles. Parades, corn hole tournaments, golf, and look-alike contests are all-weekend long.

When: August 4-6  

Time: All day long, depending on events

Where: Glen Chamberlin Park 10260 Ravenna Road Twinsburg, Ohio 44087

Admission: For non-twins and non-registered twins is $4. Children under 5 are free.

Bridgestone Invitational

Tired of seeing golf on t.v.? The Bridgestone Invitational features a world-class field for some of the best golfers in the world right in Akron.

When: August 4-6  

Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: 440 East Warner Road Akron OH 44319

Admission: Public parking is $5 per car. Admission is $25.

Vintage Wine Ohio Festival

Another summer wine festival gives you the chance to sample Ohio and regional wines all in one place. Cooking classes, food trucks and entertainment will keep you drinking into the night!

When: August 4-5

Time: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Lake Metroparks Farmpark Kirtland,Ohio

Admission: Adult sampler in advance $30; Adult sampler at the gate $35

MIX: Summer

A combination of music and art, the summer mixer is for the creative thinkers, artists and musicians of the Cleveland.The theme is all things relating to the 1950s. Cocktails and musical entertainment by Brand-New & and Terrific: Alex Katz in the 1950s. Free for CMA members!

When:  Friday, August 4,  from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Cleveland Museum of Art |11150 East Boulevard Cleveland, Ohio

Admission: $10 in advance ; $15 at the door 

Scene Ale Fest

The 9th annual Scene Ale Fest features over 100 national and international beers. Music, food vendors and local vendors will fill up the park.

When: Saturday, August 5 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Where:  2498  W. 11th Street Lincoln Park in Tremont

Admission: $25 - General Admission: All day admission, 15 drink tickets.

Summer Pop Up Market

Shop until you drop! Check out Akron's local food vendors, vintage clothing and handmade art.

The Global Table

The beautiful thing about Northeast Ohio is the cultural and ethnic diversity of our city. What better way to celebrate the different cultures than with a potluck. The event is open to all, just bring a dish from your culture to share.

Erin R. Miller__Exhibition Opening

Erin R. Miller has shown her textile art in galleries across the United States. She is having an exhibition titled, 'Return to Sender' at the Praxis Fiber Workshop, located in the heart of the Waterloo Arts District.

When: Friday, August 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

2017 Cleveland Beach Day

More than 30 Cleveland-area sand castle and volleyball teams will duke it out to see who will reign supreme. All are welcome to attend but competitors must pre-register. Sand castle building begins at 8 a.m. and the volleyball tournament begins at 10 a.m.

When: Saturday, August 5 from  10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

13th Annual Warehouse District Street Festival

Who doesn't love another casual street festival? More than 40 booths featuring local food vendors and business will line the street. There's even a cutest dog contest, so bring your furry friend!

Where: West 6th Street and St. Clair Avenue
