Gov. DeWine holds video conference after testing positive for COVID-19

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine will hold a live video conference from his home in Cedarville to address the public after he tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

News of DeWine testing positive for the coronavirus came after he took a test as part of the standard protocol to greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland.

DeWine, who has no symptoms, returned to Columbus where he and First Lady Fran DeWine, who also has no symptoms, will undergo a secondary COVID-19 test. The second test came up with negative results.

The 73-year-old governor said he plans to follow all protocols for COVID-19 and quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next 14 days. The governor said he plans to continue leading the state from his home Cedarville.
