CLEVELAND — The COVID-19 pandemic certainly is not over, and the numbers are continuing to show that. Friday had the highest number of COVID-19 cases reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since Feb. 6.
According to federal data, there were 101,171 new COVID-19 cases reported to the CDC on July 30. This is the first time that the United States has had 100,000 cases reported in a single day in nearly six months.
As for Ohio, in the last seven days there have been 6,886 cases of COVID-19 reported, while there were 1,183 reported on July 30, according to the CDC.
According to the CDC, the vaccination rate across the country shows 69.7% of adults have received at least one vaccination, and to date there have been 610,873 COVID-19 deaths during the pandemic.
In Ohio, 5,828,437 adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, accounting for 49.9% of the state's population.
