COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,774 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 966,154.
Key Metrics
The number of new cases today is lower than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 2,289. These numbers include both cases confirmed by a viral test and cases that meet the CDC's definition of probable. There have been 828,470 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, which account for 86% of total cases.
There were 254 new cases reported in Cuyahoga County today. Cleveland reported 37 new cases, bringing the city's total number of cases to 25,111.
There have now been 17,237 coronavirus-related deaths across the state; 54 new deaths were reported today, lower than the 21-day average of 266. The Bureau of Infectious Diseases and Bureau of Vital Statistics continues to reconcile under-reported deaths in the data and numbers will continue to fluctuate as a result.
As of today, 907,410 Ohioans are presumed recovered from the disease, according to the ODH.
The median age of patients is 42 with the age range for infected patients from younger than 1 year old to 111 years old.
Hospitalizations
The ODH reported 79 new hospitalizations today, with 11 ICU admissions. There are currently 1,204 COVID-19 patients in Ohio's hospitals, and 313 COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
Non-COVID patients are currently occupying 62.23% of the state's hospital beds, according to ODH. COVID-positive patients account for 4.39%, leaving 32.38% of beds currently available. COVID patients make up 6.64% of the state's ICU beds, non-COVID patients are occupying 61.74% of ICU beds, and 31.62% of ICU beds are currently open.

To date, the COVID-19 vaccine has been started in 1,620,452 people in Ohio, which is 13.86% of the state's population. The vaccine has been started in 48,350 people in the last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 vaccination has been completed in a total of 861,051 people, which is 7.37% of the state's population. In the last 24 hours, the vaccine has been completed in 46,530 people.

Testing
