COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted will not hold their previously scheduled Tuesday briefing on the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, a spokesperson for the governor confirmed.

DeWine’s office didn’t release any information as to why the briefing, which was scheduled for 2 p.m., was canceled.

The canceled briefing comes as the state's department of health continues to report above the 21-day average for coronavirus cases in the state. On Monday, Ohio reported 1,261 new cases, bringing the total to 66,853.
