22-year-old man fatally shot in Stark County

PIKE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man that happened early Saturday morning.

The man has been identified as Joshua George Beshore, according to the sheriff’s office.

The shooting happened in the 6600 block of Maplehurst Avenue SE around 2:22 a.m..

Authorities said Beshore had been shot in the head. Deputies administered first aid until EMS arrived and transported Beshore to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Deputies arrested a 22-year-old man in connection to the shooting. He is being held on one count of murder at the Stark County Jail.

The matter remains under investigation.
