MEDINA, Ohio — A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection to an arson fire that caused over $100,000 in damage to a building in Medina used to store "Santa’s House", according to the City of Medina.
Tristan Rosen, 23, of Akron, is charged with aggravated arson, a first-degree felony, and arson, a fourth-degree felony.
He was arrested on Sept. 3 in Akron for allegedly causing a fire that broke out on June 6 at a storage facility in the 400 block of East Smith Road in Medina.
The fire was quickly extinguished at the time, but the building and its contents were a complete loss valued at over $100,000.
The storage barn, used for “Santa's House,” a decorative box trailer used during the annual Medina Candlelight Walk festivities, was owned by the city of Medina.
Police received several tips identifying Rosen as the suspect. Rosen later admitted to detectives that he set the fire.
He remains in custody at the Medina County Jail.
