35-year-old man dies in Akron shooting Friday night

AKRON, Ohio — A 35-year-old man died from an apparent gunshot wound to the head late Friday night in Akron, according to the Akron Police Department.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Noble Road, police said.

According to authorities, responding officers found the man in a vehicle in a driveway when they arrived. Police say a preliminary investigation indicated that an unknown person fired several shots at him while he sat in the vehicle.

The man was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The man's name hasn't been released.
