AKRON, Ohio — A 65-year-old employee was hurt during a robbery at a restaurant in Akron early Tuesday.

At around 5 a.m., Akron police responded to a robbery at a fast food establishment in the 400 block of East Waterloo Road, according to Akron police.

The employee, a 65-year-old woman, said an unknown female entered the store, forced her to the ground and demanded cash from the safe. The woman stole an undisclosed amount of money, along with a cell phone and other personal items belonging to the employee.

The employee was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center for treatment after sustaining minor injuries, police said.

A specific description of the robber was not available.
