76-year-old woman gardening in her yard held down by 2 people and robbed

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating an incident where a 76-year-old woman was held down by a two people and then robbed.

The robbery happened around 5 p.m. in the 1200 block of Lexington Avenue.

According to police, the woman was in her yard gardening when she was approached by a man and a woman who then held her down and took her jewelry.

The two rode off on bicycles southbound down Lexington Avenue.

The 76-year-old woman wasn’t injured.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery call the detective bureau at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
