AKRON — An Akron family is searching for answers nearly a year after their loved one vanished without a trace.

Maurice Goff was last seen on Sept. 26, 2025, after leaving a home on Coventry Street in Akron following a verbal argument with his girlfriend. His mother, Juanita Sullivan, last saw him two days earlier, on Sept. 24, when he left her home in Twinsburg. Goff split his time between his mother's home and the Akron residence.

On Saturday, his family spent the afternoon going door to door in Akron, passing out flyers with Goff's picture while visiting the street where he was last seen.

His sister, Alicia Williamson, said a woman on that street told the family Goff left with an unknown party the night he disappeared.

"We came out here and asked her, and she said that he left with an unknown party but no one has been able to locate this unknown party that he allegedly left with," Williamson said.

The family said they have no explanation for his disappearance and believe he would not have vanished on his own.

"My heart is telling me something is not right. We are a close-knit family and he knows that we love him. He would definitely reach out to my mother. This is not like him." Williamson said.

In June, Akron Police Department Lt. Michael Murphy said investigators fear Goff may be a victim of foul play.

Sullivan said the family has been working with Akron police and have provided investigators with information about Goff's phone activity and social media accounts, but have not received any new leads.

"We have given them a lot of information to try to locate where his phone was last pinged at. You know, different social media outlets that we could — that he could possibly, you know, check the IP address and things like that. There's no — we're not getting any new information," Sullivan said.

Despite the lack of answers, his family said they are not giving up.

"We will not stop until we find my brother Maurice," Williamson said.

Sullivan also had a direct message for her son.

"Maurice, if you are out there and you still listen, this is your mother. Call me. Come home. I miss you; I love you. We all do," Sullivan said.

Williamson urged the community to come forward with anything they may know.

"We want to know if, is he okay? Is he hurt? Please just help our family," Williamson said.

Anyone with information on Goff's whereabouts is urged to contact Akron police at 330-375-2490.
