AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are looking for information that leads to an arrest after an 18-year-old woman was shot in the face while inside a vehicle on East Tallmadge Avenue in Akron on Wednesday.
Officers responded to a "shots fired" call on Wednesday at around 1:15 p.m. in the 900 block of East Tallmadge Avenue.
The victim told police she was inside her vehicle with two other people when she was shot in the face.
A vehicle pulled up next to her car and an unknown person fired from the passenger's side of the vehicle into the victim’s car, striking her in the face.
She was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital for medical treatment. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
