AKRON, Ohio — A woman received medical treatment after she was pistol-whipped during a robbery on South Arlington Street in Akron, according to police.

Officers responded at around 2:45 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 400 block of South Arlington Street for a robbery that occurred a couple of hours before.

When officers arrived, they spoke to the victim, a 43-year-old woman, who said she was robbed by three men while walking in the area of South Arlington Street and Lovers Lane.

The victim had a visible head injury that required staples, police said.

The victim said one of the men struck her in the head with a pistol and took her wallet and an unknown amount of cash.

She took herself to Summa Health Akron City Hospital prior to calling police.

One of the men was described as wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490.
