An unidentified resident was rescued from the porch roof of the home.

Firefighters then realized Davis was trapped in a second floor room in the back of the home.

Kevin Wright, who also lives in the boarding house, witnessed firefighters as they raced into action.

"They put the ladder up there. He was hanging out the window yelling for help. Then, the firemen came and they put the ladder up there and drug him out of there," Wright said.

Davis was taken to Summa Barberton Hospital where he died.

One Barberton firefighter was injured and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The State Fire Marshal's Office is assisting with the investigation.

The American Red Cross is helping five displaced residents by providing money for temporary housing and food.
