1 dead, 2 hurt in apartment complex shooting in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A shooting at an apartment complex in Cleveland Thursday morning left several people, including a 15-year-old boy, hurt and one person dead.

According to Cleveland police, it happened in the 7400 block of Garden Valley Avenue around 2:35 a.m.

Officers responded to the location after receiving reports of multiple people injured in a shooting.

Once on scene, officers located a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the abdomen. They administered first aid until EMS arrived. He was then taken to a nearby hospital and later died. A 23-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and a 15-year-old boy was shot in the wrist, police said.

Six other people who were at the scene were not injured.

Authorities said that a preliminary investigation indicates that two people, who were outside, fired shots at an apartment where all nine people were inside.
