Officers located the man, later identified as Wilbert McCormick, near the entrance to Forest Hills Park. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the woman and her husband were walking through the park when shots rang out and he was struck by gunfire, according to police.
