CLEVELAND — A 46-year-old man from Brunswick was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a gate at the Westerly Water Treatment Plant, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday, Cleveland Metroparks officers requested assistance from state troopers to investigate a crash at the Westerly Wastewater Treatment, located at 5800 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway.
When troopers arrived on scene, they located a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe with heavy front-end damage.
The driver, identified as a 46-year-old resident of Brunswick, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for OSHP said he showed signs of impairment and was charged with an OVI, distracted driving, marked lanes violations and failure to wear a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
