CLEVELAND — A Cleveland police detective who was initially charged with felonious assault for an incident in June has been indicted on a lesser charge: disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
According to the indictment, homicide detective Daniel Lentz "caused inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm to another by engaging in fighting, in threatening harm to persons or property, or in violent or turbulent behavior and the offender persisted in the disorderly conduct after reasonable warning or request to desist."
News 5 has requested the police report for additional details about the June 27 incident that led to Lentz' indictment.
He remains on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
Lentz was hired by the Cleveland Division of Police in August 1997 and is currently assigned to the Homicide unit, according to police.
