CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating two homicides that happened Monday afternoon.

The first homicide happened around 3:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 96th Street in the city’s Cudell neighborhood.

Authorities say a man who was shot multiple times in the body and head was found on the ground outside. Officers on scene said that they learned the man had been shot by another person who was chasing after him.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call CPD investigators at 216-623-5464 or Crimestoppers at 216-25-CRIME.

Later that afternoon around 4:20 p.m., Cleveland police found a man dead inside a home in the 1200 block of West 112th Street.

A person who lives at the residence went to the Lakewood Police Department and said he found his roommate stabbed upon returning home.

The reporting person was then taken back to the residence by Cleveland police where officers subsequently found the body of a 28-year-old man.

Authorities arrested another roommate, 31-year-old man, in connection with the stabbing. He was located by Fourth District officers near East 79th Street and Kinsman Road.

Cleveland police say a preliminary investigation indicates the reporting person was involved in an altercation and punched by the individual who was arrested. The reporting person left the home and when they returned, found the third roommate dead.

The matter remains under investigation.
