CLEVELAND — Police responding to a shots-fired call in Cleveland early Wednesday morning found an apartment door kicked in and a 33-year-old woman shot inside.

According to Cleveland police, officers responded to the 3400 block of East 140th Street around 5:20 a.m. for a person threatening others with a gun.

When officers arrived, they found a door to an apartment busted open and the resident shot inside.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, police said.

Police say that a preliminary investigation indicated that the resident was involved in an altercation with another woman earlier in the morning.

No additional information has released. The matter remains under investigation.
