MASTIC, N.Y. — A 26-year-old man wanted on an aggravated murder charge for allegedly killing another man in Cleveland was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals in New York.

According to authorities, the suspect, Carlos Perez, was wanted for the death of Kurt Lenz, 24.

Lenz was fatally shot on May 29 in Cleveland near the 3600 block of West 49th Street.

Authorities allege that Perez and another man got into an argument with Lenz and shots were fired. Lenz was struck in the abdomen and later died. The second suspect turned himself in the day after the shooting.

Perez fled to New York and was found this week in Mastic and taken into custody.

He is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
