CLEVELAND — Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's 16-year-old great-grandson has been charged for participating in gang activity over the past year.

According to a Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Court Division complaint, the 16-year-old is charged with participating in a criminal gang, a second-degree felony.

Investigators say the activity took place between Dec. 31, 2018, and July 17, 2019.

Earlier this year, the teen was charged in connection with a drive-by where a Cleveland police officer was shot at.

That shooting happened July 17 near East 86th Street and Quincy Avenue. The teen and another juvenile were later arrested near East 93rd Street and Harvard Avenue following a short foot chase, according to authorities.

The teen is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on Oct. 9 for a pre-trial hearing.
