Medical examiner's office identifies dead body found inside bag by children

CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a body that was found inside of a bag by young children playing outside on the city's East Side.

The man has been identified as Raymell James Christopher Washington, 35, of Cleveland.

The medical examiner said his cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Washington was found inside a bag in the area of East 88th Street and Bessemer Avenue.

Preliminary information indicated that young children playing located the bag and notified an adult relative, police said.
