CLEVELAND — A bus operator for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority tested positive for COVID-19 last month, according to the agency.

RTA officials said that the Hayden District operator started showing symptoms on Sept. 18. His last day of work was on Sept. 7 and he had become ill while away.

“The operator was not in contact with any RTA staff nor did the employee report to work during the time symptoms began or at any time while ill,” RTA officials said.

Thirty-eight RTA employees have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic began. Of those, 35 have recovered and returned to work.
